Meet the Maker
A little bit about the hands behind the origami and a word from the maker. . .
Hi (enthusiastically waving) I'm Rebecca, originally from South West London, I also lived for a little while in Berkshire, then Surrey before settling where my heart is in Cornwall.
I was a civil servant and seeking a new career I studied psychology and qualified as a counsellor/therapist around 2013. At the same time I started making paper flowers for fun as a bit of down time and to relax. Before I knew it the flowers over took everything, and I could clearly see this was the career I was dreaming of. Within 6 months of making my first ever flower I was able to quit my day job and I have never looked back! I have spent 10 years now perfecting my skills, and still manage to learn something new every day!

Fun fact, I actually made my first paper flower way back when I was about 8 years old. A friend of my nans, a guy called Jay (who used to design Shirley Bassey's gowns - She was a big singer in the 60s-80s probably best known for her Bond Film song Goldfinger) well he taught me to make carnations out of toilet roll paper, I think my parents wondered what on earth was going on when roll after roll kept disappearing hehe. I was once a carnival princess and we decorated the whole float with paper carnations! We upgraded to crepe paper for that :D

In 2014 I moved to Cornwall, I got my beautiful Collie x New Zealand Huntaway doggie Steve soon after I met the most wonderful human who is my now my husband. We live for holidays, weekends away, lively comedy, eating out and going to flea markets and finding old and interesting stuff.

2024 Marks 12 YEARS! Twelve whole years of working with the most amazing gorgeous couples all across the UK and internationally, sometimes I have to pinch myself that it's been this long and is still going from strength to strength. The collection grows every year and I still love it as much as I did making that first flower. This isn't just a job, this is everything!
Lots of love, Rebecca x
